Zeeland
Dutch-American roots, excellent bakeries, a parade full of lights, and a winter chili tradition that takes itself just seriously enough.
Zeeland's Dutch-American heritage remains central to local identity.
A Small Dutch History Expedition
Visit Dekker Huis, follow the self-guided historic walking route, and finish with coffee and crêpes at La Crème. One afternoon, several centuries, very little actual walking.
The Parade-and-Taco Combination
On November 30, eat early at StrEATs Taco Kitchen, see the 6:15 PM tree lighting, and stay for the illuminated parade. A surprisingly efficient holiday evening.

Saturday: Explore downtown Zeeland, visit the museum during its opening hours, and enjoy the cafés and independent shops. Sunday: Head to Pigeon Creek Park for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing when conditions allow, then return to the hotel or explore nearby Holland.
Begin with a crêpe and coffee at La Crème, visit Dekker Huis and take the self-guided downtown history walk. Lunch at StrEATs, shop along Main Avenue, and finish with dinner or a drink at Tripelroot.
